This instructor seems to treat students with little to no dignity-- from what I have experienced. Students in the art-10 program are treated as if they were small children, and given little chance to prove themselves as responsible young adults. Artistic learning is hindered by overly lengthy and often times redundant "tutorials" which are mandatory to attend by the entirety of the art-10 class. The tutorials-- though have the potential to be helpful-- are poorly organized/ presented, where as it takes a substantial amount of time for the instructor to set up and whilst being presented, few students can actually see what is going on, nullifying the purpose of the tutorial initially. Moreover, the way this instructor handles children with social issues I would deem inappropriate as well. Some students which suffer from chronic shyness and social anxieties are accused of having been not personable enough and are pushed into social situations which they do not agree to. Students are forced to present in front of this rather large class (which under normal circumstances is fine for people which don't suffer from severe social anxiety) without having given consent, or agreeing that it would be good for their current mentality. Students are treated with little respect (even if they have earned the right to be respected) and often times feel humiliated after having been called upon in front of other students. Though I believe this instructor has the right intentions for the most part, they do not know how to go about dealing with high school students-- especially those with social anxieties/ phobias.
